Cinemas: Italy and Spain

You can now search for cinemas across Italy and Spain, and in some cases order tickets, at davidgilmourcinematickets.com. Tickets go on sale today, but, as with other countries, some cinemas are slower than others; so, if you see ‘COMING SOON’ beneath the venue of your choice, please be patient and keep checking back.

You will notice that Italy gets Live at Pompeii for three nights. Which seems fair, considering. This is the only exception to ‘one-night-only’, by the way.

Details for Latin America are expected next week.

  1. wow….the UCI company is so slooooow to update…Breeeathe…..breathe (so much) in the air….. πŸ™‚

  2. Good luck to those, trying for tickets!

Shouldn’t be as hard, as getting tickets to one of Davids live shows though. πŸ˜‰

By the way FEd, I read recently somewhere online, that David was offered to play 1 or 2 solos on Roger’s new album. Any truth to this?

    1. I just saw Roger for a couple of nights in Denver. He’s looking straight up elderly. It’s less fun to withhold my love from him now. Before, he was more of a robust dick head. But now he’s kind of shriveling and it makes me sad.

He was acutely missing some Gilmour, though. I had to wear my Gilmour shirt because if he’s not bringing the Gilmour, fear not, I shall.

      1. Sure, he’s no spring chicken, but we are growing older together, and it’s far better than the alternative.

I admire anyone who continues with their dreams and visions until they can no longer do so.

As Joe Dirt would say, “Life is a garden, dig it”.

Roger is just digging his garden.

      2. Is it relevant what Roger is looking like? – He is probably exhausted from the fantastic work he does for BDS and the people of Palestine at tribunals, his shows etc. – If you think he is wasting his time and life you should be ashamed of yourself!

  3. I found a cinema in Salerno, near where I live and of course I bought tickets for 3 nights, 1 with my family and 2 alone πŸ˜‰ , on the official website you gave us FEd, I don’t know why but you cannot buy so I contacted the “Apollo cinema” and they give me a link where to buy tickets, If it could be useful I can post the link.

    1. And to the fans in Denmark!

Nordisk Film – who runs most of the ‘big’ cinemas in Denmark do not show the movie until Sept. 18th – they have the nerve to announce it on the 13. so if you are not aware of it you may not notice!

Luckily the cinema close to me, ikastbio.dk shows it on the 13th and there are a few more – Cinemaxx in Odense.

  4. Got my tickets for the Bucharest, Romania screening.

Please note that the Pompeii website still lists this as “coming soon”, yet tickets are indeed available. I can also post (or provide) the correct link for the purchase if it helps.

    1. Thank you, Stefan, I’d appreciate that and will pass it on. Sorry for this confusion.

  5. Well, I got two tickets but…I don’t undertand what UCI Cinema is doing: there are some cinemas where it’s possible to buy, but still not as per the entire list in nexodigital web site.

I’m personally still targeting the cinema (only one room) of the Milan area with the Dolby Atmos technology, but it’s not possible to buy (and it’s not completely sure it will be, accordingly to their customer phone service); only in Rome and Naples at the moment there will be the movie in hi-res audio/video. That’s a real pity form me πŸ™ , I was so curious to test this technology…btw, I was one of the lucky in the audience and this is unrepeatable better. πŸ˜‰

    1. Finally…eheheh…Lissone come’s out, and so I’ll get the tickets for a show in 4K and Dolby Atmos. πŸ˜‰

  6. FEd, there is some cinemas in Brazil, but none in Sao Paulo, where I live. It can’t be serious, right? Please give some good news! πŸ˜‰

  7. Yo Fed,

Long time no hear. How are things? Just want to let you know I have my tickets for David at Pompeii and looking forward to it immensely. Also finally the Pink Floyd soundtrack to their Pompeii film was released on the recent yearly sets under 1972. I was so pleased about that. I’ve waited for so long for that to be released.

    Cheers, Howard

  8. Glad to see that the cute little monsters are back to the Blog. πŸ™‚

(Childish, derisory comment, I know… but why not enjoy the (rare) little pleasures in life?)

        1. OMG !!! How beautiful is that ! I’ve only just found this Michele. πŸ˜€ Thank you for this.

My two cats only snuggle up now and then and only for 30 seconds or so at a time. It’s amazing how much love and affection there can be between two species. πŸ™‚

          Ash

  9. We will spend our holidays in Sicily and I got tickets for Palermo! Maybe I can see myself in the “Live in Pompeii”!?

These two nights last year were so amazing! Memories for my whole life!

    Best wishes from Berlin

    Ina

  10. Dear FEd, I am sorry, but there is little room lately for me to participate in the blog. I am hoping VERY much that this will be not the case for much longer…but who knows! It’s so good to know that there will be a big Gilmour fuzz in the September. πŸ™‚ So have much fun tomorrow and give everybody a virtual hello from me.

Thanks again for this lovely Blog.

    Hanno

  11. Yes, thank you FEd for this lovely blog.

And thank you for keeping us in the loop, always.

I’m so excited for this film. I really miss the ability to see Gilmour play live. I’ve been calling the Denver SIE center to tell me about their sound system. It should be amazing.

Seems like I went to an afternoon simulcast of an On An Island tour and it could have been so much louder.

I was 15 the first time Gilmour tore my face off, an absolute turning point in my life. 4/18/88 – I remember all these dates by heart. The next concert I saw was The Who and they were meh comparatively. (Except for Boris the Spider – that one rocked!)

I started spending allllllll my money on sound systems, haunting 70s resale shops, blowing up receivers and speakers left and right. Yamaha, Sony, marantz….

I found a combination that I couldn’t defeat in a Harmon karden receiver and paradigm tower speakers.

Anyway, none of this is important, I just want you to know how deeply you’ve improved my life. There are so few things I’ve loved all my life and this is one of them. I love being crushed by sound and swept away by melody.

You are amazing, FEd, to do the job you do and deal with all of my bobbleheaded sycophantic yammerings. Thank you.

    1. Not at all. Thank you – all of you – for taking the time to share what you’re thinking with us. That’s always been what makes this blog lovely.

  12. Adding my thanks to you FEd for the Blog and to all for the sense of community it brings. This is a troubled world, the Blog brings comfort when the world feels angry and unsafe. I am writing now from my escape from the world, Block Island, Rhode Island USA. This island is magical and yes, all my David Gilmour music is with me. On An Island, well, you all know how it goes…

  13. David’s former F40 going up for auction for charity, it may go for a million quid.

    DAMIAN

      1. Did you get that photo of the car I took in Switzerland Fed? All electric 1000 bhp the bloke driving it said a million pound. And I thought a cup of coffee was dear.

        Damian

    1. Nick Mason posted a nice old photo of him and David Gilmour and their Ferraris on Twitter the other day. I wonder who will buy such a car…

    2. Hi Damian, thanks for the heads up, I’ve just put my “Winning Bid” on David’s former F40. πŸ˜€

      1. Hi SF. Well, if you win, get down here and we will go for a spin up the military road along Hadrian’s Wall.

        Damian.

  14. I think we’re the only country (Israel) where they didn’t start with the sale yet. πŸ™

The sad thing is they still can’t say when this is going to happen..

  15. Strange… The Pompeii website lists the 8th of September for London but hasn’t added a cinema for this date yet. Could there be some exciting news coming?

    1. Hmmm. Yes-kind of intriguing. It’s a Friday night as well. Plenty of time to ‘recover’ over the weekend….

    2. Hasn’t anybody invented a time machine yet ? ! For goodness sake ! We’re a brainy lot here. I can’t stand the thought of not being able to see it, (and hear it) on a big screen, more than once !

      Ash

      1. I made one Ash but I pressed the wrong button and sent it unmanned except for a field mouse to 2118. The fact that no-one has sent it back again appears ominous.

I only made one other trip, to the Stone Age, but when I told them about Trump being President they got all agitated and started throwing bones at me.

  16. Well, having been inspired by Polly’s photos on Instagram, I went and bought a Camera, look out world. My phone has a capable camera on it, but I thought I would step up a bit and get something a bit better. Boris Johnson was in my local cafΓ© the other day, he’s on his holidays cycling a bit of Hadrian’s Wall so no Rockstars to snap, just a big pillock on his jollys.

Counting down the days to Pompeii and popcorn.

    Damian

  17. Hi Fed. Hope you’re fit and well and you’re not holding your fingers on too many leaks, leeks.

Have you any thoughts on updating the Gallery. It would be nice to see some memories of the RTL tour.

    Kind regards
    Damian.
