Meet-up: Verona

IMPORTANT: Please note that Sunday’s concert now starts at 22:00, not 21:00. Gates open at 20:00. There is no change to Monday’s start time, which is 21:00, with gates opening at 19:00.

Here’s the entry for anyone who will be in Verona on Sunday 10th and/or Monday 11th July.

If you know of a good place to meet for a drink before these two shows, send us your suggestions. I think a recognised venue and approximate time would be appreciated particularly by those fans too shy or as yet uncertain about their own travel plans to get in touch with their contact details to make firm arrangements.

If you do wish to include an e-mail address in your comment so that others can write to you, or request that I forward one to a specific person on your behalf, however, please feel free to do so.

  1. I will be in Verona on Sunday 10, probably in the morning to see the interview to Polly for her books translated in Italian … well… I HOPE for the interview!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Hi guys! I’ll be at both concerts. The best idea would be to meet in a bar near the Arena to enjoy one (or two, or three, or more) spritz. There are a lot of nice bars in Verona, we just have to choose one.

    1. Nice idea asilorepublic!

I know, near the Arena is the best place for drink something, in particular “Spritz”!

    2. ahahah!! after Pompei…then second day in Verona, with my brother in law, so if you want Andrea we could join again. 🙂

  3. Magari non faccio che questo sogno.

A Verona il 10 luglio con mia figlia vorrei incontrare David Gilmour.

  4. Hey FEd~ What a wonderful way to connect bloggers before the shows.

I would have loved to meet fellow bloggers when David was performing on the West Coast. A few mentioned going to the beach and meeting up. I was not in the area yet or I would have enjoyed saying hello.

This being the first day of summer and soon the kick off of David’s summer stint of the European portion of the tour at some of the best venues possible, what a memorable summer it will be.

    Happy connecting…
    Take care, Suzy

  5. Hi FEd,

    Great idea really!

Unfortunately no ticket concert for me. But, I might be in Verona on Monday 11th.

  6. I’ll not be there, unfortunately. But I can have a drink at home if you want!

  7. Any of the bars in the Square sell nice cold beer in litre and half glasses – superb.

  8. Well this looks fine: 1. Wales, 6 points; 2. England, 5 points.

Maybe Northern Ireland can surprise the slow Germans today. 🙂

  9. Hi guys! I will be at the concert on Sunday 10th in Verona with my boyfriend Dante and his son. Dante is really in love with David Gilmour since he was a teen (he goes to be 41 tomorrow 😀 ); he has named his child Davide and he has played him Pink Floyd’s songs since he was in a high chair (Davide will be twelve on July 11th, the concert of David Gilmour is his birthday gift 😀 ). They went to the concert in Verona last September, I went with Dante to the concert at the Madison Square Garden last April and it was really great!

I would love to do a big surprise to them and I think that to meet some other fans of David could be wonderful!

I studied for one year in Verona and I can suggest some typical places where to meet: “Osteria del bugiardo” in Piazza delle Erbe or “Terrazza Bar Al ponte” in Via Ponte Pietra, 26 or “Mazzanti” in Piazza Bra. We could meet during the Sunday, what do you think?

    1. Hi Sara! I will be in Verona on Monday 11.

Well, Osteria del Bugiardo could be a good place to meet you and other fans.

      Keep in touch!

      Hydrea 😉

      1. Hello Hydrea, thank you very much for your reply, I’m very sorry but on Monday we’ll have to work. 🙁

We will come back to home on late Sunday, after the concert.

        Have a good show, bye!

  10. For all of you that will go to Verona, especially if outside Italy……..I have received a communication from TicketOne…. the show on Sunday 10th will start at 22.00 and NOT at 21.00 as originally planned, gates open at 20.00. The show on Monday 11th will start as usual at 21.00, gates open at 19.00.

    1. Oh dear. I hope that doesn’t inconvenience anyone too much.

      Thanks for that, Rino.

  11. Maybe it’s a little bit early but this is my proposal for Verona’s meet-up: we can meet here at Atlantis Pub, the first night at 20:00 (the show is at 22:00), the second night at 19:00 (show at 21:00). I always go there for a spritz and a sandwich whenever I go in Verona to see concerts. It’s less than 5 minutes walk from the Arena, it has tables outside, and there isn’t the crowd that you can find in the bars near the amphitheatre. And, most important, they have fair prices, not like the ones in Piazza Brà.

If you like it let’s go there, otherwise we can find another place… 🙂

  12. Hi FEd!

something off topic: sorry for Wales… I only saw the first half of the match, my opinion was that Wales was the better team.

Concerning the RTL tour: the delayed start for the first show on July 10th has been confirmed on PF Facebook site: 10pm now.

  13. I will be at Atlantis pub from 19:00. I will make an Irregulars sign. Ciao!

    1. OK, so I’ll try to arrive a little earlier… I said tonight at 20 and tomorrow at 19 because the show will start an hour later, at 22, so we have a lot of time to spend together as well…
