Meet-up: Stuttgart

We’re halfway through the list of European destinations – and what a fine list it is. If you’ll be going to Stuttgart for David’s 14th July concert, feel free to use this space to arrange a suitable place to meet with other fans before or after the show.

Any hints or tips from anybody with local knowledge would be most gratefully received.

This is what Lonely Planet has to say about the capital of Baden-Württemberg. (Methinks the world’s largest pig museum is going to be popular with Pink Floyd fans…)

    1. This is something that’s been requested by several people. Not so for North America, where people made their own arrangements on Facebook.

  1. Well, if you have enough time, it’s worth to visit the Mercedes-Benz Museum as Stuttgart is famous for its two big car companies, Porsche and Mercedes.

There’s a Jazz Club called “BIX” which is also a location for several gigs at the JazzOpen 2016, the festival that David plays at.

You have to try the famous Swabian “Maultaschen” a local speciality; they’re offered almost everywhere.

  2. Hey FEd, I read that the concert today will start an hour later as scheduled before.

Any truth to that and if so would it be possible that the Wiesbaden show starts an hour later too? The lightshow just looks better when it’s dark.

    1. That’s the first I’ve heard of it. I’ll find out. Yes, this is true: it’s an 8pm start now, not 7pm.

I see that the Jazz Open Stuttgart website lists the start time as 8pm, rather than the original 7pm which was printed on the tickets.

I hope this doesn’t cause too many problems for fans with buses and trains to catch.

Out of interest, did any ticket buyers receive an e-mail about this change?

  3. Been to the venue last night for Lizz Wright and Van Morrison. Cozy place with impressive stage and immaculate PA. Be prepared for rain, though…

  4. Forecast is looking clear right now, fingers crossed! Any good restaurant recommendations near the venue?

    1. There are several good food stands on site. I can definitely recommend the freshly baked “Dünnede”…
