Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Just in case you haven’t yet seen David’s fine performance the other night on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
and wanted to pass comment… ‘Wish You Were Here’ is also available on YouTube.

The other songs performed before an audience of some 1,500 were ‘Today’, ‘High Hopes’ and ‘In Any Tongue’, the last two of which are to be broadcast in June, so that’s something to look forward to.

Good news for those who haven’t got a ticket and refused to buy from the touts: there are a few extra seats available at the remaining arena shows (Toronto, Chicago and New York), now that it’s clear that you’ll have a good view of the stage from there, so hurry over to Ticketmaster if you think you might like to sit in one.

  1. Great performance!

David’s in really good shape. 😀

Has anybody found the “Today” performance online?

  2. hi FEd! just an information, on April 24 i’m in London at the Royal Albert Hall for the concert of David for the Teenage Cancer Trust 2016, i travel from Italy for see him. 😉

i just want to know if you know something, if the stage is the stage of the “Rattle That Lock World Tour” or if the stage will remain that of TCT concert for all the week, so without circular screen, laser etc…

In wait of a reply, thanks for your time!

    Simone

  3. From what I’ve seen in the last few days David constantly raises the bar on Live performances..other acts should really take note.

  4. Great performance, quite unusual playing in a parking area isn’t it??

Anyway David seems to be living a fantastic new era of his career and of his personal history. He’s teaching us how a man in his 70’s should be when he’s in full control of the heart of his life…

Keep on heading into the shining sun, David!

    1. I’m excited for you, Amedeo. Have a great time and tell us all about it, won’t you?

  5. I will be at both shows in Toronto with my daughter, son and his fiancé. It’s about a 3 hour drive for me, and will be staying at a nearby hotel to the venue between shows. Most certainly this is the highest point for me in close to ten years since last seeing David On April 10, 2006 at Massey Hall. So exciting!

  6. Will be off to The Real Sports bar located right beside The Air Canada Centre tomorrow for a couple of pre concert pints and some herb. Like John I was at the first Massey Hall show 10 years ago and what a show that was especially with Richard being part of this outstanding band. We love the Floyd and David of course in Canada I already have rushes (could be the herb).

    1. George, perhaps I’ll join you! I’m sure it will be easy to find you by following the basil odour.

  7. I’m going to be a total mess in 2 days when my time gets down into the single digits – there’s a carnival taking place in my head and I can’t keep still. I worry that I might start hyperventilating. 🙂

  8. The Sunday show in Inglewood at the Forum was amazing! He is such a master entertainer. It was an incredible experience to hear all those people sing along to Comfortably Numb, and all the other favorites of course. I have a new appreciation for High Hopes. All the hipster/millennials sitting around us really came to life on that one.

I was really stoked to hear Run Like Hell. It sounded even better than the last time I heard it live which was on the Delicate Sound of Thunder Tour back in 88.

The band was amazing as well, especially Guy and Stevie D on drums. That Brazillian kid on the sax was great as well. It was nice to hear Money and the light show on Astronomy Domine was outstanding. The folks there who happened to be on psychedelics probably really appreciated that one, LOL.

It’s amazing that DG just turned 70! He sounded better than he ever has. If that was the last time any of those songs will be performed live by him that was one hell of a way to go out and it was a night we’ll never forget!

  9. I heard that David played a song or two twice? Because there was an issue with Kimmel’s sound? Can anyone elaborate? Or are my friends just day drinkers who have no idea what they heard?

    1. That’s quite common for TV recordings. Ask those who were at Abbey Road (for Live from Abbey Road). Was it four or five takes and then they chose the best to broadcast?

      1. Yep, had to sit there listening to them playing it over and over and over again – it was f*cking great! 😀

  10. I love the comment I read on YouTube:

“David gilmour still rocks my socks off.”

The English language never ceases to amaze me…

  11. I am happy for everyone that will be able to experience David in concert.

I can relate to how you are feeling Pavlov as I was hyperventilating for some time prior to starting out on my quest to see David’s concert. I became dizzier as the concert date became closer. When Sunday at The Forum finally arrived I felt as if I was floating, as I had been dizzy for so long. I was worried I might faint but the as the adrenaline kicked in and I was encompassed with the cocoon of David’s magic, I embraced the floating sensation and went with it.

I am sure, all that are fortunate enough to attend will be thoroughly moved. As time stands still but it is over before you are ready for it to be and wish it would never end… Although that would not be kind to David and all those that make it happen.

Safe travels and happy times to all fortunate to go.

    Take care, Suzy.

  12. I needled my husband for months that I wanted Toronto tickets for my 50th birthday (which was in November) and he finally relented last week! We last saw David with Pink Floyd in Pittsburgh in 1994. Now we’re driving up Friday morning from northwest Pennsylvania and hope for the experience that we’ve been hearing about from the LA gigs.

    1. Any chance of David appearing on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon when he’s in NYC or on Saturday Night Live?

  13. Nice! 🙂 Canadians, enjoy!!! have some great nights over there.

(Is his voice a bit rough in the clip?? Perhaps a small cold… 😉 Doesn’t sound worse though.)
