More artwork

David, by IkkarHow about this one, then?

You can, of course, click it for a closer look.

Fine work, Ikkar. Thank you very much for sharing your obvious talent with us.

That’s all for another week. We’ll be remembering the Venice concerts on Monday. The chatroom will also be open, from 13:00 (UK).

Have a great weekend, all.

  1. Sadly I’m not blessed with talent…..really good drawing, Ikkar.

    Have a nice weekend all!

    Cheers
    Paul

  2. Nice drawing Ikkar, it’s a pity you caught up with David on a bad hair day.

    Have a happy weekend everyone…

  3. Wonderful work, Ikkar – I’ve always wanted to have the ability to make great artwork like that.

My dad is going to do some more work on his painting of David this/next week, FEd. His spirit is high at the moment as he recently won a Liverpool-themed art competition too! I’m very proud of course, and look forward to showing off his work when he’s finished the current one. I’ll keep you posted.

[Please do, Liam, we’d love to see it. – FEd]

  4. How wonderful Ikkar!

I wish I could create beautiful things like that with a brush or pencil. (Is that pencil?) I don’t even take a very good photo! I bought a digital camera recently and most of my photos come out blurry!

  5. Wow! Hairy! Scary! Nice work Ikkar. 🙂

I’m looking forward to seeing Liam’s Dad’s painting too.

    Have a great weekend all.

  6. [… it’s a pity you caught up with David on a bad hair day. – KenF]

    A pity? Oh, no!

OK, I know, I’m not objective when I see pictures of David with long hair…

    Bravo et merci, Ikkar!

  7. Happy Birthday to Melissa!

[Happy Birthday, Melissa. Have a lovely day. – FEd]

  8. The question to Ikkar is: How long did it take to draw that image? Your attention to detail and depth is quite good.

I used to draw quite a bit when I was a teenager many moons ago. In fact, I know I have some sketches somewhere of my attempts of drawing the Scarfe images from The Wall. I used to frequently sketch out his image known as The Head.

    Thanks.

    Andrew

  9. Very nice Ikkar. The expression on David’s face says a lot of things..I feel that it represents most of his music.

That’s really a very good work, congratulations!

  10. Yes, it is truly amazing what people can do with hands. It’s a beauty. I’d say that Mr Gilmour looks a bit “vikingish” in this picture (if that is an actual word). Great job!

  11. Hey everyone, long time no see.

Just stopped by to wish Melissa a happy birthday! And Ikkar…Wonderful work on David’s picture, excellent detail!

Hope everyone is doing well on here. Cheers and have a great weekend,
    K.C.

  12. Nice drawing, although the shadow at the eye seems too dark on my laptop’s screen… I’d like to see that part in a higher resolution.

    Well done, Ikkar!

  13. I am loving seeing the artwork and photos made by fans. Music is such an inspiration.

So FEd, how about graphic designers? Are you interested in seeing typographic works? Graphic designers want to know!

    Have a lovely weekend!

[Sure, bring it on. – FEd]

  14. Fantastic drawing Ikkar. Would love to put it on my wall.

Happy Birthday Melissa and a nice weekend everyone.

  15. Oh, what I wouldn’t do to be able to draw like that. When I draw, it looks a lot like ink smeared across paper.

My art makes Jackson Pollack look like a master of photorealism, if you know what I mean.

  16. Beautiful piece of work Ikkar.

Everybody have a great weekend – it’s work here. On the house that is!

  17. Excellent work, Ikkar. Thank you for sharing this with all of here FEd.

    Have a good weekend everyone.

  18. Ikkar, that’s beautiful. You captured his eyelashes well also. Bravo.

    Happy Birthday Sweet Melissa.

  19. Noooooooooo! 8/8/8, Melissa birthday! I promised long time ago I would have remembered it, against my senility…and I forgot! I am senile! FEd, can you allow me belated wishes to our Mel?

Happy birthday, my dear! I hope you enjoyed your day and that this new year will be full of joy, friendship, fun, love, music (of course!) and full of all that you wish.

    A very big hug
    Lucia

Ikkar, great work! Hey, we have great talents on the blog, don’t we?

    Happy weekend.

  20. Very nice Ikkar.

Also, I really love these magical soundclips we hear.

    Have a nice weekend!
    Ernest

  21. How beautiful! I wish I could capture what Sir David’s music does to my soul!

  22. Magnificent artwork, Ikkar. In your drawing we can perceive the spirit of the artist.

    Bye/ciao Elisabetta

  23. Ikkar: your artwork is wonderful. The hair is especially hard to do properly and you have captured it very well. This particular shot is probably one of the most difficult you could have chosen for the hair. At least in my view. I used to do pencil drawing in school and enjoyed it much. What medium have you used here?

Some amazing talent here on the blog.

And a very Happy Birthday, however belated, to Melissa.

FE’d, I probably missed yours too. I need to get a secretary to keep me better informed and organized. Yeah right, along with new gray cells.

  24. Wowwwww Ikkar! Beautiful artwork. I bet David and Polly love this one also.

    Send us more!

Only one of a kind stuff on this blog, uh Fed!

  25. Thank you Fed for the information considering Live in Gdansk. You were absolutely right with what you said about the information on Amazon’s website. It´s finally available for preorder in the European versions, too.

    Ikkar: Great work, congratulations.

    Irene

[Thanks for letting me know, Irene. – FEd]

  26. Dear Fed,

    Ikkar, with love

[Mon plaisir. Merci beaucoup, c’est impressionnant. – FEd]

  27. Nice work Ikkar!

I wanted to post this here. My mother drew this piece actually for my father’s birthday I’d thought you guys would like to look at also (click my name).

This was David waaay back in the day.

Love the music and keep rocking!

    Sean

    [Thanks, Sean. – FEd]

  28. Ikkar; ils sont fabuleux tes ¨petits dessins¨ faits la nuit, et méritent qu on les voient partout dans le monde!!! Bravo!

  29. FEd

I thought I would offer up my attempt at something David related with these photos (not especially to post to the blog, delete/format as required).

This (click my name) is the landlord of a local public house, Martin, who I have always thought looks a bit like a younger version of David (tongue=cheek). If you ever have a David look-a-like competition, here is our entry!

[There’s definitely some resemblance. Thanks for that. – FEd]
