Bonus tracks

Remember That Night DVD (2007)Oh, how I chuckled at the premature grumbling about certain songs being left off Disc One.

As Ray Davies sings (on his ‘Other People’s Lives’ album), “We are such creatures of little faith…”

23 songs is the most you can possibly cram onto Disc One, but I’m delightfully happy to announce that Disc Two will include the following five bonus tracks from the Royal Albert Hall shows of May 2006:

‘Wot’s… Uh The Deal’, ‘Dominoes’, ‘Wearing The Inside Out’, ‘Arnold Layne’ and ‘Comfortably Numb’.

So, that does mean Richard Wright singing ‘Arnold Layne’.

However, it does not mean Nick Mason playing drums on ‘Comfortably Numb’. Nick’s appearance is not included.

The above is another image from ‘Remember That Night’, which will be out in September. Please click it for a closer look.

There’s no chat today, but there is one on Wednesday from 12PM (UK). Everyone’s welcome to drop by, so don’t be shy.

  1. can i ask a small question feat ed

Will each song on disc 1 be completely from the night it was played?

This is what i mean, will comfortably numb featuring Bowie, be that exact version that was played and 29th and not edited together with bits of comfy numb from the other nights.

    I couldnt word it well!

[I understand you perfectly, Kristopher. I’m afraid I have no idea, in all honesty. – Features Editor]

  2. Brilliant! This was always going to be a spectacular DVD.

    Please “drip-feed” us more F’Ed.

As the saying goes: “How do you keep an idiot in suspense?…” 🙂

  3. I jumped the gun.

A big apology to FED and of course David about my previous post saying I was disappointed in certain songs maybe not being included on the 2 dvd collection. I was thinking about my post all day. I wasn’t really disappointed, I think frustrated is the correct word.

I am really looking forward to this release. Now I must take my foot out of my mouth.

[No worries, mate. It’s been fun winding you all up. – Features Editor]

  4. It will be a fantastic DVD :-)))

So happy that ‘Wot’s… Uh The Deal’, ‘Dominoes’, ‘Wearing The Inside Out’ is on disc two :-)))

  5. its been a while fed and fellow reg’s & irreg’s,

this is the best weekend i’ve had in a while… a day long concert with 7 awsome bands over the canada day weekend, complete tracklist, updates on david’s signature model, the ending of blotto, sorry but now when i pass bingo halls and lotto booths the sound of people losing gets amplified.

regarding the pricetag on the signature strat, what people need to realize is its more of a collectors item instead of a toy and even if i didn’t play guitar i’d look into having it as a piece of art. as it is i’m scared sh*tless to use it and probably won’t for another couple years.

i don’t mean to complain fed, but i’m disappointed. haha idiots… hopefully now they’re satisified.

PS amazing shots, the dvd “looks” beyond amazing. i already know how it’ll sound 🙂

    PPS welcome back ax

PPPS this’ll bring out the geek in me, but whats the name of the font used in the blog?

    -cemet

    [Good question… – Features Editor]

  6. What a great bonus mini concert this will make. It’s also a bit of a Rick-fest.

This is quite a flurry of good news we’re getting. Please know it’s much appreciated.

Fed, I believe I read you were sick earlier today. Hope you’re feeling better.

[Feeling fine now, thanks. Glad you’ve enjoyed the news. About bloody time, eh? – Features Editor]

  7. Will we know which songs are taken from which nights? i.e. Shine On, Breathe, On An Island; songs that aren’t unique to a particular night at the Albert Hall, if you know what I mean.

I’m only asking because I went and it would be cool to know.

    [Apparently, no. – Features Editor]

  8. “it does not mean Nick Mason playing drums on ‘Comfortably Numb’

    why? you hate pink floyd…

[Do me a favour. It’s not a Pink Floyd release. – Features Editor]

  9. Phew! Wots is there. My faith didn’t waver (much) 😉

I hate to wish summer days away but seeing as it’s so rainy out, HURRY UP SEPTEMBER!!

    N

  10. Just got back in from Myrtle Beach. It was very nice down there and there is a lot to be said about the ocean. Now it’s back to reality in upstate NY.

OAI flows nicely along side the sound of waves. I did miss the blog and it sure is murder trying to catch up.

Hope you feel better Fed, and thanks for all the goodies I’m catching up on.

  11. Fantastic to hear that the additional songs will be included.

A bit of a shame that Nick’s appearance didn’t make the cut, but no complaints with what is being included.

Looking forward to ordering the DVD – let alone actually watching it. 🙂

  12. Nicks footage should be included at the very least in the bonus material.

  13. Oh thank goodness! I love all of these songs…(me being a 13 yr old who’s also a drummer/floutist/guitarist…:) but u can’t get any better than all of the songs on the DVD…no worries when I sleep anymore…jk:P…anywho, can’t wait til September!!!! WOOHOO!

    K.C.

  14. This DVD is really perfect!!! It’s obvious that I like that some music as The Great Gig in the Sky and the participation of Mason will be included but, still thus, this DVD is amazing!

    I am waiting for september…

To really be better only if you in giving the address of the David Gilmour to go in its house to drink tea and to eat some biscuits… that you find? hehehe

  15. FEELING BETTER????

Now I really can’t wait till september! May it pass quickly, to quote someone (i’m not sure who)

  16. [Nick’s appearance is not included.]

I am very thrilled and satisfied with the song choices and the five bonus tracks; I wish Nick Mason was at least on one of the bonus tracks though.

  17. Glad to read that news….we got “Wots Uh the Deal”….. jolly good show (do you guys still say that shit over there?)

[I could say something distasteful about the upper classes saying it, but won’t. – Features Editor]

  18. Well, I was just hoping some tracks would be on disc 2, so what was a bit premature on my part was smiling yesterday for thinking Mr Mason’s apperance would be on the dvd, but I’m still a big smile, so why bother… 😉

I can see you have had a lot of fun with this, I know I would have if had been in your shoes…

This will probably be the best music dvd released ever, with all the music and all the extras. I’m so looking forward to the release. Anyway, we must all try to enjoy the here and now a bit as well and keep focus on what’s really important these days.

Understood you were a bit down Fed, hope you are feeling better.

Wish you all at davidgilmour.com a nice summer and must thank you for the extremely great job you are all doing. Please feel free to tease us more and of course slip us the odd goodie now and then!

    Cheers!

    JT

[Thanks very much, mate. – Features Editor]

  19. The news just gets better and better Fed!

I just wanted to share that I just celebrated my twelve year wedding anniversay July 1st.

When I got home from the festivities I got online and found a 1998 Framed Fender Strat Ad. It featured Jimi Hendrix wearing the now very famous cross stitch guitar strap that now belongs to DG.

I am going to put the picture along with one from the OAI Tour on my studio wall as a little before and after homage to my favorite Stratomasters:-)

    -Tomi Sue

[Congratulations on your anniversary. – Features Editor]

  20. Is there any possibility to know from what night (date) is each song on disk one?

I like to know, because I was there at 31.5.06

Could anybody answer my question? I hope you will understand what I mean.

    Thank you

    Thomas

[Sorry, but this information will not be included with the DVD packaging. – Features Editor]

  21. [23 songs was the most we could possibly cram onto disc one, but we are happy to announce that disc two will include the following five bonus tracks from the Royal Albert Hall shows of May 2006]

hah! for once in my life I can say, I knew it!

  22. Yes! That’s it. Would be so sad if those weren’t included there.

Thank you Fed for the news!

  23. CAPTION

“Who left the fridge door open?” asks Guy

Rgds Geoff Duffy ( Dublin )

  24. Ciao,

the news get better and better every day. Still I don’t find “astronomy domine” in the track list. I hope you put there some footage taken from other concerts (still rememeber it was so amazing to hear it played in Firenze).

It really sounds like a fantastic DVD….. 🙂

  25. Bye Bye Blotto….

Hello fantastic DVD….it can’t get any better than this.

Hope you are feeling better F.Ed.

    Nisha

[Thank you, Nisha. I’m feeling much better, thanks. – Features Editor]

  26. Okay Im sorry but I am so excited!

I was just standing 4 feet away from John Carin at the airport I work at!!!!! RW came in and we got autographs and pics, and i feel terrible for bothering them, but just couldent resist.

Rather meet DG, but i cant even ever imagine approaching him, or bothering him. I just had to do it!!!!

John was so nice, and polite/ I just cant believe I was so close to him!

    Irene (LI NY)

  27. Well, what else can I say: Great, great, great!

This DVD seems to become a real treasure trove filled up to the brim with goodies.

Please Fed, if you can, pass forward a big thanks to David for making available all these gems to us!

[Thank you, Georg. Will do. – Features Editor]

  28. Great taste you say?

I completley forgot to mention that yesterday was two years to the day that a wonderful occasion took place.

Can you guess what it is yet……..

I think this was the best picture taken on the day, and capped a wonderful (if, vocally challenging 😉 for some) performance.

Anyway… What a day it was, a great day for all of us.

[Two years… Where is the time going? – Features Editor]

  29. It’s sad that Nick’s drumming is not included. I hope we will see him on the DVD anyway..

  30. That’s great news, Fed. Now…what about that acoustic version of Echoes….?

  31. We are waiting for bonus tracks from Gdansk !!!! Fed, you know something about this ??

[Sorry, Pawel. There are no bonus tracks from Gdansk. – Features Editor]

  32. [oh how we chuckled … – FEd]

You are cheekily evil, FEd 😉

Thank you for lifting yet another piece of the veil over this now even more eagerly awaited release.

    Best regards,
    Ralph

  33. Just a little asking if you don’t mind…

I assume that five is NOT the total number of bonus songs on disc 2, right ?

Ils sont ‘Castellorizon’, ‘On An Island’, ‘The Blue’, ‘Take A Breath’ et ‘High Hopes’. Plus de détails à venir… bientôt. – Features Editor]

  34. I’m glad you got to have some laughs, FEd. And hope you’re feeling better….

    Becky

[Thank you, Becky. You know what they say about little things and little minds. – Features Editor]

  35. You know, if this thing was only going to be a single DVD with 10 songs on it, I’d still be excited and looking forward to it immensely.

  36. good to see the inclusion of those songs as extras on the forthcoming dvd.

any chance of lily allen appearing on davids next release? ;0)

    [Don’t get me started… – Features Editor]

  37. Oh yes!!! thank god and david for putting wtio & wots… on disc 2!

this will be a great dvd! can’t wait until september…

  38. caption competition:

In an effort to bring more attention to his rear position on stage, Steve D lights himself on fire to dazzle the crowd.

    Darren

  39. Maybe it was a misunderstanding on my part, but I thought from your response to my query yesterday that some of Nick Mason’s contribution at the RAH was included on the second disc.

From what was said about the version of CN with Nick playing on it, this turned out to be a bit of a farce (though not Nick’s fault), so I can understand why this isn’t included.

However, I am very disappointed to learn that Nick’s guest appearance on WYWH doesn’t seem to be included on either disc.

I guess TGGITS with Mica Paris on vocals is not included either?

[With all due respect, something has to be left out. Three nights filmed means the best performances from those three nights make it onto the DVD. David is a perfectionist and wants this DVD to be as near to perfect as is possible. Let’s not forget that we only get this DVD – should we wish to buy it, no one is being forced – because of the tour, and there wouldn’t have been a tour in the first place were it not for ‘On An Island’. Floyd purists can bleat all they like, but this DVD is about ‘On An Island’. It doesn’t carry Pink Floyd’s branding. It wasn’t a Pink Floyd nostalgia tour. It was ‘On An Island: Live’ with some of David’s favourite Pink Floyd songs thrown in for good measure – that’s the bottom line. Everything other than ‘On An Island’ is surely a bonus, if you look at it that way. It’s just a shame that, for some, it’s not enough. Yet if the Pink Floyd material outweighed the ‘On An Island’ material, then I’m sure there would be plenty said about that… – Features Editor]

  40. You people are sadistic. That said, the bonus tracks complete a fantastic song list.

  41. The DVD sounds like it will be a masterpiece.

Unusual picture today of Guy, very ethereal.

FEd, hope you are feeling brighter today!

[As bright as a button, thank you. – Features Editor]

  42. Whoohooo!

Great news – I”m hoping to get some glimpses from the Gdansk show as well… I hope that the symphonic orchestra that was brought in for that show will be shared for all of those who wasn’t there (I was on the 50.000 lucky ones to experience the show).

    /Nicholas

  43. Since it is tomorrow now and hope you are feeling better after some rest, the Mica Paris performance of Great Gig? Will that be an omission from the release?

    Thanks.

    Andrew

[Yes. That one is not included. – Features Editor]

  44. hi fed and all

ive just caught up with the blog. i will have to get me one of the signiture strats. i always said when i get home i will have lessons.

ill have to count my pennies as i think i will be bankrupt after my journey, theres always hp.

    damian

  45. Rest…sleep…breaks…you deserve them all!

    Feel better, FEd.

  46. It is a shame Nick’s performance wont be on this DVD, but I am so happy that these five songs are included as bonus tracks.

Cant check the previous blog entries, new contract come in from a company turning over £20M today. Must work and work!!!!

    Love to you all.

  47. Hooray for double discs! I knew we’d get all the goodies.

The variable songs in the show I attended were Wearing the Inside Out, Fat Old Sun and Dominoes. So I’m really looking forward to seeing the others performed.

  48. Nice bonus tracks! Thanks for the info. Pleased to see Find the Cost of Freedom with C&N included. Got to experience it live in NYC.

Fed, saw Dylan the other night at the original Woodstock site (literally down the road from my house). Words can’t express…. they just can’t!

    Tara

[Sounds fantastic, Tara. Did he leave you confused as to which song he was performing at any point? I saw him do ‘Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right’ last year and, despite it being one of my favourites, it took me quite a while to recognise it. – Features Editor]

  49. Toronto’s Radio Q107 World Cup of Rock Result:

The Beatles won the final knocking the Who out in the Final. PF lost in the semis to The Beatles and The Who with only 30% of the vote…

Can’t complain at that I guess remembering PF won it last year….

[Tough competition. I mean, would you go in for a sliding tackle on Townshend? – Features Editor]

  50. Hi Fed… was just reading all the recent posts (both before and after the great reveal) and thought what an amazing DVD this will be!

You had mentioned that there will be footage from the Mermaid as well… can I ask a teansy question??? Will the footage be of complete songs (thus making the number of ‘bonus songs’ higher) or will it just be bits and peices?

I know… all in good time right?

Hope today finds you feeling better Fed.
    Tim

[Thanks, Tim. You get complete songs from the Mermaid Theatre, fear not. – Features Editor]

  51. I ain’t bitchin’ just clarifying, no Great Gig?

It’s cool as WUTD, Richard’s Arnold and WTIO are simply transplendant.

Thanks again F*Ed, we had almost as much fun being tortured as you did dishing it out 🙂

Happy 4th of July! I know you don’t celebrate but surely you’ll hoist a sparkler or two won’t you?

[Sure. Democracy is a wonderful thing. – Features Editor]

  52. Happy Tuesday,

Fab news. It has put a smile on my face today.

Although a tasty 23 tracks were initially announced (glad I never passed comment now) this latest 5 has added the icing to the cake.

    Pete – Coventry

[You know what they say about icing… – Features Editor]

  53. Excellent, it all sounds great.

The only other thing I was looking foward to was his performance of “Dark Globe”. Any chance that will be on disc 2 at all?

[Please ask me tomorrow. – Features Editor]

  54. [This is what i mean, will comfortably numb featuring Bowie, be that exact version that was played and 29th and not edited together with bits of comfy numb from the other nights. – Kristopher Junner]

    All those suspicious minds…

Kristopher, I can recommend you to listen to On An Island from Gdansk, it’s available in Press Section on home page if you select 2006 and then select August and it should be somewhere.

It’s non-edited version broadcast live in real time in Polskie Radio (they were permitted to switch to soundboard for that one) and it sounds great, and I do not see any reason to deeply edit it.

The same was probably with RAH shows, which were great and I especially loved the whole second part on 29th of May, which you asked for. I could imagine that some work had been done, but not that deep, to mesh different parts from different shows.

In my opinion it will be matter of balance of particular instruments in final mix. That’s all.

David and his band are top professional musicians, who have great pleasure with performing and playing live. I can say so, because I saw them at Abbey Road, trust me it was far beyond the duty to record the program, at first, it was pleasure and joy for them to play with each other, at least I had such a impression.

Such a posts create unnatural feeling that David is far more focused meshing, fixing and editing the material in the studio than playing live. Of course I cannot accept in my mind such a approach and I deeply believe that the DVD will have very much original sound with only cosmetic touches in studio.

No CN with Nick – it’s a pity, but on the other hand I was at RAH on the 30th and liked that one. What about TGGITS? I hope that Sam Brown’s version from Paris will be included if Mica’s couldn’t make it.

    Tomasz

  55. FEd,

I, for one, haven’t minded in the least being “drip-fed” the set-list for disc 1 of the dvd … it’s been keeping me at just the right level of anticipation and excitement! And now the fun begins again with disc 2;-) Ahhh …

FEd, I hope someone has fitted you with an IV drip of chicken soup, green tea, or, if you’re feeling better already, Margaritas!! Ole’!!

Hope to chat with you and the rest of the loonies tomorrow …

    Peace ‘n’ love!
    Gabrielle

  56. Great News FED!!! Thanks for all of the info so far!

Do you know if “Dark Globe” will be included? It was the biggest surprise of all the tracks performed by David that year (in my opinion). I was hoping that the same video that is on Davids website will be included.

Also, any news on the Blu-Ray release date yet?

[All in good time, my good man. All in good time. – Features Editor]

  57. I´m more than suprised. that dvd is the first thing i´m going to buy since a long time.

but one song´s still missing: ASTRONOMY DOMINE. where is it?

perhaps gilmour didn´t play it at royal albert hall. but anyways at least i saw astronomy domine in munich during the sudden rain which btw was fantastic because during rain laser beams are incredible.

  58. What about “The Great Gig in The Sky” with Sam Brown at the Olympia in Paris ?

    [Sorry, no. – Features Editor]

  59. We’ve gone from drip by drip to a fire hose lately. It’s pretty much all I could have asked for. Thanks to all involved.

September can not come fast enough.

  60. “What about “The Great Gig in The Sky” with Sam Brown at the Olympia in Paris ?”

    [Sorry, no. – Features Editor]

    *tears*

  61. [Yes. That one is not included. – Features Editor]

No discertation, discussion or further commentary as to why it is not included. Just thank you for clarifying.

    Andrew

  62. Hi Fed and all

sorry ive been away for a while. work is leaving me no time to log on and im moving in a month. yes i know a month is a long time but my wife seems to think we can never be ready in a month, i would not mind she only has to pack every thing while im at work i know if we work together we can achieve it, also Fed how disappointed was i to read that you hate the Floyd

[it does not mean Nick Mason playing drums on ‘Comfortably Numb’ why? you hate pink floyd… – DJ Rodrigo Aguiar]

[Do me a favour. It’s not a Pink Floyd release. – Features Editor]

i always new you was A Nick hater. does your middle name begin with R maybe Feature Roger Editor

is it true that Piper at the gates is getting re issued and updated? have you heard anything? yes i know David never played on the album but he is the Keeper of the Floyd, read it the other day was just curious

    cheers Fed

[Regardless, it has nothing to do with David. You can find all you need to know about the 40th anniversary of Pink Floyd’s debut album at Pink Floyd’s official site(s). – Features Editor]

  63. Feat ed, i have to ask, where about did you see Dylan?

I saw him in glasgow in April, he was outstanding, but he really loves to change up his songs eh, it took a minute before i recognized ‘Dont think twice, its alright”

Like a Rolling Stone was incredible though, and he look very sharp with the suit and white hat.

I have no problem with Nick not being on the dvd, as has been said, it aint a floyd release, I just really wanted Wots the Deal and Wearing the inside out bad because they were performed during the majority of the shows.

I agree that David probably wont mesh together different parts from different nights as it would totally take away the live experience, which is what its all about at the end of the day!

[I saw him in Cardiff last June, Kristopher. It was a great gig. – Features Editor]

  64. To all those bashing and laughing at “us poor whinges” please play nice. We are (as everyone is at the blog) at the very least passionate about David’s music and care very much to try and see as much as possible included on the DVD.

I am sure that many of you taking pot shots already had your fav’s in the bag and could afford to sit back and pretend to be gracious. I bet if Echoes or similar was left off the bill some of you would not be quite so magnanimous.

    Let’s stick together as fans.

    Cheers, Howard

  65. I would like to amend my last post as it seems a bit whiney.

Yes I am disappointed that GGITS (Sam Brown) didn’t make the cut as I am a huge fan of hers but I am truly overjoyed with what has been included and from the look of the previews that we have been blessed with this DVD will is going to have more style, polish, class and great music than anything ever released…

  66. [Is The Great Gig In The Sky (with Mica Paris) on second dvd??]

[Ask me tomorrow, Andy. I’ve been too nice for one day. Can’t say anything else. – Features Editor]

so, there isn’t my favourite song of Rick?? Neither from some other concerts of the tour??

[There’s no ‘Great Gig’ whatsoever, sorry. – Features Editor]

  67. hello mate –

sounds like youre having a tough old time with the dvd release and peoples opinions on what should/should not have been on there.

for that you have my sympathy – with all due respect i imagine you had zero input into the dvd, and why would you have any? – its a shame people have to take their frustrations out on you – when there is little you can do now, or indeed couldve done, then.

It’s gonna be a superb dvd, i think the best tracks have been chosen, and the bonus songs are just great – and grateful i am that they are included. i didnt get to go to the mermaid gig, heard the audio but havent seen any of the video so thats a real bonus for me.

With that said, why on earth didnt you put WTIO on the main concert disc, i mean WTF is wrong with you man?? and for that matter why no animals tracks included!! 😉

[I’d love a 58-disc set as much as the next fan, believe me. – Features Editor]

  68. Enough about Astronomy Domine already!

And on a completely personal note I probably owe Messrs. Waters and Gilmour a few quid…I went to a pig-roast and barbeque over the weekend and when the host found out I played guitar he pulled an acoustic himself and gave me another and we sat on the deck around the fire…

There’s no DVD, we didn’t play Astonomy Domine, no recordings from the sound desk but here’s the tracklist of our live performance:

    – Brain Damage
    – Eclipse
    – Wish You Were Here

And then someone made a request so we duly played

    – Comfortably Numb including the first lead solo…

Twas a grand singalong with fireworks going off overhead celebrating Canada Day…

So if DG asks… the cheque’s in the post… 😉

  69. Wow…

This DVD will have well over thirty tracks on it, the sound and picture quality will set a benchmark in High Definition live concerts…

Now that is value for money!

  70. Without The Great Gig In The Sky this is not a dvd with all the songs that were played during all this tour!

    It’s not a realistic dvd! ahah 🙁

[I must remind David to remove that giant, eye-catching, money-back guarantee that’s emblazoned – in sparkly writing – across the cover of his DVD, then. You know, the one that says: This DVD contains all the songs that were played during this tour. I’d hate it if David was accused of making ridiculous, unrealistic promises just to please some ridiculous, unrealistic fans. – Features Editor]

  71. Yet if the Pink Floyd material outweighed the ‘On An Island’ material, then I’m sure there would be plenty said about that… – Features Editor]

Err, I was merely pointing out that, after seemingly being informed yesterday that Nick Mason did appear on the DVD, I was disappointed to find out today that he wasn’t!

I’m unsure as to whether I’m considered to be one of the Floyd purists that your refer to…..probably not, I guess, as I would have preferred to have seen a greater proportion of David Gilmour songs on the set-lists.

Also, I hate those annoying stickers on the OAI CD to inform the uninitiated that David Gilmour is in Pink Floyd….no doubt the marketing people will be ‘branding’ the RTN DVD release in the same way.

[There’s no doubt about it. They’ll want David’s DVD to be a big-seller just as much as (some) fans want to tell David which tracks he should, and shouldn’t, have put on the DVD in the first place. It would be great if we could all just appreciate the music for what it is – art – and get on with our lives, without whining about what’s missing and how many units have been sold. – Features Editor]

  72. Dear David & FEd,

The DVD is looking superb. (looks like it will pretty much knock my socks off)

David, I want to thank you for not just throwing the DVD together haphazardly. I am sure it was a painstaking effort, of which I am truly grateful.

It’s obvious that no matter what material has been chosen, not everything could be used.(duh)

Instead of appreciating the fact that there is going to be a DVD, there are those who are never satisfied. How unfortunate for them. I have noticed there are some on the blog that seem to dwell in misery and negativity. How on earth can they enjoy the beauty and artistry of your music when they are in such a negative place? (Rhetorical question there) It boggles the mind.

FEd my heart goes out to you for having to wade through such dire muck on a daily basis. Although at times it seems you delight in being able to dish out some of your witty repartee to those who have gotten “stuck in stupid”. I applaud you FEd.

Enough babbling from me. I hope my “efforts” to send some good thoughts your way helped.

I hope to “see” you in the chat tomorrow, depending on the weather here. 70% chance of rain. That will certainly put a dampener (ha ha) on our fireworks.

    Take Care,
    Penny

  73. Hey Fed, people keep asking about Astronomy domine.

Yes we know, it was on Live and in session Bonus DVD, but still expect this little diamond to be included in that beautiful crown full of amazing songs.

  74. [As you’re obviously in a good mood today, will the additional RAH footage on Disc 2 include anything with Mr Mason on drums or with Mr Wright singing (i.e. instead of Mr Bowie)? Will there be any Gdansk or Venice footage at all? If there isn’t, it would be great for either these concerts to be broadcast one day (something along the lines of the Floyd Venice broadcast from 1989) – IMcK]

[Yes, yes and yes. But that’s all for now. That’s quite enough for one day. – Features Editor]

    IMcK,

    Just to clarify.

That’s two questions and a statement from you, three “Yes” responses from me.

One “Yes” for “Will the additional RAH footage on Disc 2 include anything with Mr Mason on drums or with Mr Wright singing (i.e. instead of Mr Bowie)?”

Yes, Richard is singing lead vocals on ‘Arnold Layne’ and ‘Wearing The Inside Out’.

One “Yes” for “Will there be any Gdansk or Venice footage at all?”

Yes, there will be footage from both Gdansk and Venice, but there will not be complete songs. There are no complete live songs from any tour date other than the three London shows.

One “Yes” in agreement that “it would be great for either these concerts to be broadcast one day (something along the lines of the Floyd Venice broadcast from 1989).”

It would be, and it is possible, but there are no plans to broadcast these concerts at this time.

Note the “or” in your first question. Your mistake.

If anyone else made the same mistake, please take note.

  75. [Tough competition. I mean, would you go in for a sliding tackle on Townshend? – Features Editor]

Forget Townshend – I would be steering well clear of Mr Moon thank you very much.

  76. Unburdened by the terrible baggage of actually having seen a show I’m just very grateful that a representative selection of choice performances from a marvellous venue will be available for me to sit in my comfortable room with my TV turned right up and have a lovely wallow.

  77. Don’t have time to comment much right now. On my way over to in laws for dinner and watch fireworks.

I just wanted to add quickly…..WOW….WOW…WOW.

And many thanks. The dvd is going to be splendid. Can’t wait and yet love the anticipation.

    Thank you, David.

And F’Ed..sorry you haven’t been well, and sorry that you are getting hammered again with the ‘whiners’…. I am so excited with what we are going to get on the dvd.

    my best to all,
    Jan
