IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: "Comfy Numb" just isn’t enough!
If you wish to be eligible for this game, then you must state which version you think will feature where there were guest appearances.
For example, do you mean Richard Wright’s ‘Arnold Layne’, or David Bowie’s? ‘Comfortably Numb’ with Nick Mason, or without?
There were three shows in London, don’t forget. We obviously don’t expect you to guess which night each track was taken from, but where there was a special guest, we do expect you to be specific.
Needless to say, any vague entries shown below cannot possibly win.
We have extended the closing date for entries to Monday to allow you more time. Please ensure that you are happy with your list before you submit it. All lists submitted are final and changes will not be made under any circumstances, so it’s down to you to get this right.
What with a certain person having a birthday and the addition of our GuestMap, we didn’t tell you anything about the DVD last week.
Well, there are going to be a whopping 23 songs on disc one of David’s double DVD, ‘Remember That Night’. These are from the Royal Albert Hall shows of May 2006, of course.
Go on, guess which songs will be included.
But wait. As this is davidgilmour.com, there has to be an element of silliness involved (and we have to drag this information out to make you suffer), so we have chosen to make a game of it: Blotto.
It’s like Bingo and the lottery, only better. You don’t even have to be drunk to enjoy it.
Basically, you state here – right now – which songs you think will be on the concert disc (yes, including any guest appearances) and in which order they will be. Then you hurry over to the Stuff & Nonsense page to print out your Blotto card and copy the names of the songs onto it, so that you have a handy guide to keep close to your computer at all times.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be revealing a random song/track number. We might even be really mischievous about it and make such revelations in the chatroom or on some other part of the site. We just haven’t decided how wicked we can be with this yet.
Anyway, if we announce that such-and-such a song is to be the fifth track, find number five on your card and mark it as being correct or incorrect (it’s correct if you guessed the right song).
In classic-Bingo fashion, we want to see frenzied exclamations of "Blotto!" splashed all over the blog if you get a row of correct predictions. If you do complete a row – and we’ll be checking, don’t forget (once you state your 23, you can’t change them) – you’ll be entered into a prize draw.
You must have submitted your numbered list of 23 songs, with guest appearances, by midnight Monday (UK) to be eligible.
One attempt each, please, and a list of no more than 23 tracks.
This might just be one of those rare occasions whereby acronyms are vastly appreciated. SOYCD, WYWH, TAB… You know them, I’m sure. It’ll be a good brain workout for you, if you don’t. Eat some fish.
The chatroom will be open tomorrow from 1PM (UK). Doors will close with a slam at 3PM, so please arrive early to avoid disappointment. Everyone’s welcome and we look forward to seeing you.
