As many people are still reporting problems with ordering the ‘Live and In Session’ DVD from our UK & Europe store, we hope this helps.

1. Click on the DVD.
2. Click the ‘Buy It’ button at the foot of the page.
3. Select your country.
4. Click ‘CHECKOUT NOW’ instead of ‘CONFIRM’.

Wait a moment and a new page should appear with space for you to enter your address and payment details.

If not, click ‘CHECKOUT’ on the left of the page. You should then see the items you wanted to order, along with details of postage costs, and beneath this you’ll see the form for you to enter all your details.

If you got past this stage, then your order has been received and you have nothing to worry about. You will receive confirmation of this.

If you are still having trouble with the website, please contact Anthill directly and let them know, either by e-mail or by telephoning 020 8607 0518. They will be happy to take your order over the ‘phone.

Please note that the ‘Live and In Session’ DVD is exactly the same as the bonus DVD contained within the limited edition ‘On An Island’ CD/DVD set (not yet available from the UK & Europe store, but we’ll let you know as soon as we’re ready to take orders).

This bonus DVD features eight songs: the six from the AOL Sessions (‘On An Island’, ‘This Heaven’, ‘Smile’, ‘Take A Breath’, ‘High Hopes’ and ‘Comfortably Numb’), ‘Astronomy Domine’ from Abbey Road and ‘Take A Breath’ from the Royal Albert Hall – the latter being a taster of what you can expect from David’s full-blown concert DVD, which will be out next year.

To re-iterate, the ‘Live and In Session’ DVD is not David’s live concert DVD and does not document this year’s ‘On An Island’ tour.

  1. Really excited about the AOL sessions release.

    I just came back from a long trip abroad where I had these wonderful sessions on my iPod, must’ve listened to them 200 times … Everyone around me had a chance to listen to High Hopes, with awe and admiration as the common response.

    Small problem, however: The TV system here in Israel is PAL, while the UK store won’t ship here (and the US store only has NTSC). I’m not too keen on buying yet another version of the album (have the vinyl as well) but I will if I have to.

    Since this is the first time I’ve posted since I got back from London (ages ago!), I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at this site for giving me the chance to see David at the RAH. Was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I’ll never forget it!

    Well done to let everyone know how to go with it.

    I have managed to pre order the CD and DVD and there is a delay between the moment you click on Check out and the time the page appears.

    That confused me and then when redirecting me to the order page it kept saying 1 copy only, which is good so that cannot be overided.

    Anyhow I have my copy preordred and will look forward to receiving it and offering it to you now know who…

    the north american store looks much more professional and has lots more available to buy.

    It’s fantastic that those who have already bought On An Island don’t need to buy it again simply for the additional DVD. Enough artists out there are re-releasing CD’s with bonus DVD’s without this fantastic dg.com option – and it’s really annoying when you’ve already bought it!

  6. It’s an exciting time to be a Floyd fan. For a few years, it seemed there was nothing going on. This year, there is new music from both David and Roger; concerts from both; a couple of DVDs from David; the possibility of new music from Rick; AND there are statements from both David and Roger that they would like to make more original music.

    It won’t appease those who want a Floyd reunion, but I think this is better. We get more music to choose from, and these great artists get to make their music in the way that they see fit.

    I just wanted to let you know that my transaction went through without a hitch. I ordered on Saturday and have received two confirmations that things are going exactly as planned.

    I am stoked to be getting this extra DVD disk as well as the 2007 imminent release of the full on concert DVD documenting On An Island lp. How amazing it is that my feelings of elation and excitement at new Gilmour music (and a concert, dating back to April 9th) can be further fueled into the new year by more releases.

    Just my two cents worth….

  8. It’s a gorgeous sunny day here in Bournemouth, warm enough to walk around comfortably in shirt sleeves. A bit different to the Highlands of Scotland, and very welcome it is too. I love Mondays. If I get a good Monday in, it sets up my week. Here’s to a great week for everyone. I’m sure going to have one!

    I somehow don’t think Fed will be looking forward to the week though, or to any more DVD releases at this site, judging by some of the posts. Aw, does the button not work for you when you press it? Oh, how terrible. Isn’t the world such a crappy place!

    Listen, did DG have to release a DVD-only package for us? Nope. Did DG have to make limited copies available to all use irregulars? Nope. Does DG have to make this site available? Nope. Does DG have to pay the wages of the guys and gals who put this together and make the blog available? Nope. What does it cost us? Nothing.

    I’d suggest showing a bit more respect towards DG or he may just get pissed off and decide to save himself some time and money and headaches instead of trying to do special things for us.

    Where else can we rub shoulders with members of David’s band? Where else are such amazing offers found, such as competitions to win free tickets to Guy’s shows and tickets to sessions like Abbey Road?

    I, for one, am very thankful that DG did go out of his way to make all these resources available. And I’ll bet that the extra work involved in making this special limited edition DVD available through this site isn’t covered by the cost of the DVD or the postage and packing.

    Thanks for your reply in the previous entry.

    After some perseverance I finally (!) managed to get through to the subsequent pages, although I can’t say my confidence was high every time I clicked the “next” button.

    I know you probably have no idea about the source of the problem, but is it a volume of connections thing, or just something dodgy?

    I haven’t posted for months (I’m one of the quiet observers), I shall continue…..

    I’m working in Denmark at the moment with my job. This brings with it the problem of internet availability. I don’t have any access at weekends, so as you can imagine i’m filling my panties everytime i look on a monday morning incase i’ve missed some exclusive on the site (in this case the dvd). I’m glad this one had a happy ending, and hope everyone else gets the chance to get their copy!

    One last thing, any clarification of a CD release of Arnold Lane? Is a sleeve & sticker possible like smile? Maybe included in the Albert Hall DVD case to save postage?

    As for me im stood on the porch playing my air guitar again strumming along with dave to oai, no neighbours playing it on full blast. Its amazing what this album does to a normally sane person.

    I had to write this, hope you dont mind fed i havent spoke to anyone for 3 days. kats gone home so all ive done is fished the lake.

  15. I am an occasional contributor, regular reader.

    As the Features Editor is always very fair in allowing criticism of David’s management, I would like to add that I too had trouble with ordering from Anthill’s UK & Europe site. As a result, I chose not to. Instead, I shall be buying the CD with bonus DVD elsewhere.

    As good as it is to be able to purchase the DVD only, it seems absurd to pay more for it than you would for both the CD and DVD just because you do not want another copy of the CD. I would much rather have another copy of the album and give it to a friend than, frankly, be forced to shop online from a retailer in whom I have little trust.

    However, I very much look forward to watching the DVD and feel that, as an individual, it is my choice as to what I purchase or whom I purchase from. If we all took our decisions more seriously and had more self-control, we would never feel as though we had been “ripped off”.

    the dvd is a great gift for christmas but how can we give it for a gift if we cant get but one

    i want one for myself and i wanted to get one for my best friend who doesnt have a credit card but if i can only get one that will not be possible

    i just hope that i will be able to find one at the stores but thats impossible some times they only send a few at the time an im limited on travel right now car is broke down so ive been doing shopping online for christmas

    anyway im just hoping i can find this for my friend she is a true David fan, maybe i can preorder or find it online somewhere else

    i know there has to be a limit because you only have a limited amount to get rid of but maybe thats something to think about for next time since when you first announced the release of dvd it was said heres a great christmas gift

    theres no way i could only get one and then give it away especially since i dont have one theres no way i would have to keep it for myself im sure you understand, ha ha.

    Oh well wish me luck on finding one for my friend, we live in a little town the only store we have to buy cds an dvds is walmart,thats why online shopping is great.

There’s no limit as to how many copies of the CD/DVD set you can buy – which makes a far nicer present anyway, in my opinion, due to its presentation – and you don’t have to buy from the website. If you consider the price of the DVD, you could get the CD with the bonus DVD for only a little more, as many online stores offer free delivery.   17. I forgot to mention in yesterday’s post – I LOVE the photo on the cover of the limited edition DVD. It’s brilliant…dark, moody and with a fantastic backdrop and David looks fantastic. No idea if you have any plans to use this for the ‘proper’ DVD, but it’s a great image. One of Polly’s?

    Also, had no probs ordering at all. The litho thing also reminded me that (embarrasingly) I’m still sitting on lithos that I promised for a few of us non-UK people. Please please please drop me a mail to let me know who you are and I absolutely promise to get it sorted this week. I’ve wiped my machine since so I don’t have any of the old e-mails…sorry!

    Phil Manzanera – A Maserati Spyder, looks classy, has expensive tastes but quite a few people wouldn’t recognise a Maserati…

    Guy Pratt – A Mini Cooper, a good solid car which has been described as the most fun you can have with your trousers on…

    Steve DiStanislao – A Kia Sorento, for many years in the background building up a solid reputation which is now becoming more public…

    Jon Carin – A Ford Explorer SUV, it is used to riding on both the rough terrain and the smooth highways…

    I agree to a point with Luis G comments, I suppose it does make sense to purchase the whole package, but I don`t feel `ripped off` I think it`s a nice offer which shows how David and his management team try to look after the loyal fans.

  30. I’ll echo some of Luis G’s sentiments here. Is it just me, or is the DVD by itself rather expensive? £13.45, or somesuch? Did I miss something? I’d be very surprised if the CD+DVD is any more than that in stores.

    For what it’s worth I’ve ordered a few things from Anthill over the past year at different times; a DG shirt, some lithos and this DVD. Both previous orders have been quickly sent out and exactly as described. I needed to call and change a delivery address, again, no problems. From my experience I have no reason to distrust them at all.

    It seems simple to me, but what do I know about the music industry: David has had his tour videod and there’s a lot of people around the world who want to see that DVD. You can choose to wait until it’s ready for release, or you can choose to buy a preview. The production of that DVD costs money and I’m happy to pay for it.

    I can honestly say that I’ve never ever felt ripped off by any DG or PF project, ever. That’s not blind devotion clouding my senses – that’s quality for you, time and time again over many years. If that quality costs a little extra for a peek, or I have to wait longer for it to be ready, so be it

  32. George Maciver is right. Let’s be thankful for all that David has done for us fans. He could easily sit back and retire if he wanted to, having achieved the fame, fortune and legacy that he so deserves. Instead, he is giving us new music and new renditions of golden oldies and DVDs and concerts and is inducting his heroes (and ours) into the halls of fame. He even put aside his differences with Roger long enough to give us Live 8.

    So, to those who like to gripe, I say it is time to ease up a little. There was a problem with the technology that makes e-commerce possible. Get over it, and be thankful for your blessings.

    Been away for a few months and although I wasn’t exactly surprised, I’m really happy to see you guys are still here.

    Hi Fed! I was a serious blog addict for the first 7 months or so, and ‘had to put it down for a little while’ as they say. Trying to look only once a day now. And not read the archive.

    I am a bit perplexed though by the folks whining about having to pay soo much money for a cd and/or dvd. How many Gilmour records have you had to buy since 1985? It ain’t like they come out every year. Shut-up and buy the damn disk. Back in the spring, when the Angry Mob was forming up, didn’t we build a shrine or a chapel of some sort? Some of these folks need to attend a few of the services.

    i think it is expensive, but i take nickster’s point and i don’t blame david for setting the price.

    i also take luis’s point. i should have bought the cd complete with the bonus dvd from someone else. i didn’t have to buy from anthill. it is absurd to pay more for just the dvd than you’d pay for the cd and dvd together just because you’ve already got a copy of the cd and don’t want to feel forced into getting a second (or a third in my case, as i was lucky enough to get a best buy copy from a friend in the states as well).

    i will get the cd and dvd set because the packaging sounds really nice (that is the emi version’s packaging, not sony’s) and i’ll keep it in its cellophone.

    but i won’t buy it from anthill. i’ll get it for less elsewhere like luis.

  44. Just to follow up Victor’s notes, I’m not going to buy from anthill either.

    When I fill my order with 1 dvd copy it will by default charge for 2, so you need to update it manually and if you forget… you get two dvd… last but not least… £7.00 for shipping from UK within EU???

    No thanks, but I’m not discussing the quality of the product which I believe is great. Cheers.

    I didn’t order from Anthill either. The UK store is pants and nothing like the US one where there is a lot more variety. I’d sooner get the CD again and get the DVD with it as a bonus than pay so much for the DVD on its own.

    Nice idea, shame about the price and the online store.

  49. The price is £9.99 + shipping (from memory, apologies if I’m wrong). I don’t think a tenner is bad for a preview DVD with one RAH track and I think four AOL sessions. This isn’t download quality, this is proper DVD quality we’re talking here….for ten quid? That’s fine by me!

    I think there was a £3.50 packing charge and I reckon that’s Anthill’s call, not DG Management. It is a bit steep but it’s not daylight robbery…and to be brutally honest there are way more important things to get upset about in this world than an extra pound or two on delivery…imho…

  50. I think that David Gilmour has chance to have known Polly Samson. Polly Samson is somebody of real benefit for him. It is a pity which he did not know himself earlier. It is his ideal wife. Since they are together, David is well! It shoulders it in a formidable way.

    On the other hand, it is a pity that David Gilmour is not recognized universally like “the” guitarist, only now. Without David Gilmour, Pink Floyd would have died since 1968.

  51. Boy, a lot of controversy regarding anthill. Myself, I assume that the CD/DVD combo will be available in the bricks and mortar stores here, so I can just buy it when the store opens on Tuesday morning and watch it Tuesday night. Why buy from anthill and wait who knows how long to receive it?

    Anyway, I just wonder why, in this global economy, anthill needs a N.A. site and a Europe site?

  52. Off topic, I read that the CERN particle accellerator is costing the UK 78 million pounds a year to facilitate this huge scientic endeavour. Makes you wonder where the money goes eh Fed? I wonder if David has personal thoughts on it.

  54. I’ve just got in from Brent Cross (a local shopping mall) and went into the HMV in there to see what’s doing musically. I know Xmas is coming, but it’s insane how many ‘greatest hits’ that are being released! Repackaged, rereleased….real gravy train stuff. I’m just grateful that DG and PF aren’t doing the same. And a ten quid DVD is nothing compared to everyone else (U2 in particular, what were you thinking??!).

    yes, there are more important things to get upset about but fed is good enough to allow everyone to have their say here and this is my opinion. if it’s a message for anthill or david’s management, i don’t know or care. all i know is that the dvd costs too much in comparison with buying the cd and dvd together.

    Not to rub it in, but ordering from the North America store was easy … I ordered one dvd and one cd/dvd combination in addition to the three I ordered from Amazon. Great gifts!! As far as the cost, the dvd alone was $10.00 which seems very resonable to me considering that it’s a limited release available only through the website. No complaints from me on that at all! The only screw-up I made was not ordering a shirt at the same time in order to get the 40% discount. I thought that I could do it later using the promotional code … after all, I was ordering during chat time so I hurried myself a bit.

    Susan, good for you!! Decked out in David for the holidays — not too shabby! That should add some sparkle to the ordinary holiday decorations. And I agree, the shirt couldn’t be in better hands, enjoy it!

    just wanted to chime in on the DVD cost thing… again.

    All this talk about the DVD only being more expensive than the cd/DVD… my total order from anthill is just under US $16. Best Buy is advertising the re-release of OAI (with no mention of the DVD with it, though I’m sure it must be)for over $21 not including shipping. Not a huge difference, but I’m comfortable with having purchased the DVD only at the price I paid. This is only to hold over until the tour DVD is released anyway. I’ve only been able to watch the AOL sessions once, so it will be cool to have it on DVD.

    For those of you who like to throw your money away on DG, pick up the DVD The Strat Pack… it’s got I think 4 tracks by David that make the whole DVD worth the money (and the other performers are for the most part pretty good too).

    Have a great Thanksgiving (for those that celebrate it… for those that don’t… just give thanks).

    Since it was me, who made the mistake of ordering both the dvd and the combo, I feel insulted. I admitted that it was my fault for not reading the entire post, so shoot me.

    I just keep wondering why you are protesting so much about things that don’t have anything to do with you. Why should it bother you if some of us got excited and “snapped up” our copies? It’s not coming out of your pocket.

    Relax, don’t give yourself a stroke worrying about what others are paying. I don’t see a problem with the price. Most of the time if you buy things as a set, you do tend to get a better deal.

    I like to think of it this way,the dvd price is roughly what it would cost me to purchase 2 McDonald’s Extra Value Meals. By opting for the dvd, I will save myself from clogged arteries, high blood pressure and a fat ass. Not to mention that I will still have the dvd tomorrow. So at the end of the day, I can sit back on my skinny ass, grab a light beer and pop in my dvd, knowing that I made the best decision “for myself”.

    I also plan to buy the cd+dvd in a parisian shop next week.

    I had the chance to see the Paris concerts and one of the RAH’s ( 29th )

    Can’t wait to watch this first “teaser”,then the “real” concert Dvd, then…another David’s live concert ( and new record ) !!!!

  65. Well Thanksgiving is almost here and I’m ready to gain a few pounds with family and friends. While everyone is here we’ll listen to On an Island while eating and after dinner we’ll all kick back and watch Pulse. This is going to be a day we will all enjoy. I hope that all who celebrate this holiday will have a good time.

    Well, I just bought the dvd and as a longtime Floyd fanatic that has a big apetite for anything that has even an atom of floydness I clicked “add litho” when I started filling the purchase form.

    I dont regret it of course and i’m sure that thats the item worth of the extra money that i’ll be spending, but I would just like to know what exactly does this litho contains? (I know I know…should have asked that before I bought it lol…)

    I’m sure that some of you folks have said something about it here, but I really didnt paying any attention at the time…

    I hope that my package will find the safe way here.

    Neutral, and not contaminated with chemical nose pollutants or David’s bodily excretions(which means he showers daily.)Enjoy the unsmell.As we all know,odour is one of our most powerful senses to bring back memmories. So now whenever you are near someone that doesn’t smell like anything,it will remind you of David…

    Weird how the cost of this dvd-only offer is such a big deal for some. I mean, it is a limited edition offer isn’t it? When something is produced in limited quantities it generally is a little bit more expensive … but it also makes that ‘something’ a lot more special don’t you think, and therefore worth every penny? I’m soooo anxious to receive mine, and then Arnold Layne too!

    I think it was extremely thoughtful of David and all involved to put this offer together for the sole purpose of allowing Regulars and Irregulars alike the opportunity to buy the dvd alone!

    Frank, this is cheap compared to 2012 Olympics, yes? UK are involved in CERN through Culham in Oxfordshire. The glassblower there played a key role in experiements and in 1980 interviewed me for my current job. Perhaps the costs go towards keeping a glassblower happy and helping him afford to buy CD/DVD. If David does have an opinion I am sure it will be an educated one. Money cant buy love but it sure can keep the wheels of progress going as we all know by using these **** computers.

    I am afraid I couldnt get a copy of DVD only so went for combined and see no probs with that. FeD what keeps you going at times like this?

    about face is awesome…just lose cruise and blue light and it is a #1 album.

    oai is good but not better than either previous. i think people just finally caught up w/ ole’ dave and get it. good for dave. and whoever posted that they were listening to oai during dinner and watching pulse afterwards …can i have an invite next year? i wish my fam. was so cool…maybe a little darkside/wizard of oz late night…j/k. that myth aint true.

    but what about delicate sound…so much better than pulse in my opinion. everyone on this site is all oai and pulse and i am #1 and about face with delicate sound…really…pulse? i’m not as big of a fan of that. delicate sound is rawer.

  94. i never saw the original pink floyd so i dont have a monopoly on anything. i was only 9 during the animals tour and that tour is my dream. that would be the tour i would want to see the most personally and i didnt.

    my experience with live p/f is bare but i have seen d.g. a lot. i do have strong opinions about gilmour though and have studied him very diligently and thoroughly. there are just era’s that are rawer and more more monumental to me.

    i think david’s management is wonderful and so is this site. i post all the time so i must like it.

    i wouldnt complain about any prizes from gilmour management…especially one of those d.g. strats

    i dont think pete townshend, paul mccartney, nick mason, or rick wright mean any disrespect to gilmour either when they called him dave. i dont see a pf record where rick wright is referred to as rick but gilmour calls him that. i was just confused…never knew that he didnt like that. are u sure about that? where did you read that?

    like i said, god is fitting too. especially after their version of echoes on the last tour. and how brilliant to have bowie sing arnold layne as he was such a huge syd fan…influenced ziggy stardust. brilliant!

    btw, i was just asking. i refer to him as that all the time and now i wont.

    maybe i will go in vacation for a while. i have inspired a lot of flames w/out really meaning too. i do know a lot about d.g. though b/c i have scoured everything looking for info. for a long time. i am not better though…i am just thorough. i have almost all if not all the magazines from 1979 on that u can get in the u.s. and it is basically same info. repeated.

    you gilmour fans would love my bar though…giant customized photos everywhere. I AM NOT BETTER. sorry to everyone if i come off that way…just love david. (maybe i am a little jealous that i didnt see oai tour too…)
