Your fourth favourite photo

fourth_blog.jpg

Following on from our ‘Which of Polly’s photos is your favourite?’ poll, here’s the fourth most popular – as chosen by you.

This picture was taken at Abbey Road’s famous Studio One, during a break in recording of the forthcoming ‘Live At Abbey Road’ programme – which you will be able to see on a television set near you (if you’re in the UK, that is) in December.

It polled 14% of the vote. Our thanks to all who voted.

Well done to everyone who correctly identified Jon Carin’s feet yesterday. Thanks also for all the interesting facts.

There’s a chat session going on right now if anyone fancies popping into our lovely chatroom to say hello. The next one’s on Friday.

Finally, just so you know: the blog will be in read-only mode tomorrow, but will re-open for business on Thursday.

  1. In my opnion all the pictures are good its hard to chose just one. Cant wait to see whats number one.

  2. Happy Birthday F.Ed,

Hope you have a grand day.

    Nisha

    [Thanks, mate. – Features Editor]

  3. H.BDay Fed.

Got to the chatroom and froze for some reason, darn PCs.

On Sunday we got a Shitzu, 8 months. Almost blind, so adorable. Wish you could see him.

Have a great day tomorrow, you earned it. I’ll have a cyber pint in your honour.

[Thank you, Frank. Your new addition sounds delightful, by the way. – Features Editor]

  4. Fed, so glad to hear you decided to take your b-day off. You deserve it, Mate! I hope you have a great day. Do absoultely nothing, or something that really enjoy. No work and all play, makes for a wonderful day. I’ll have a drink for you tomorrow. (And one for me too 😉

You didn’t say, who shoes were those yesterday?

[Oh, yes I did. – Features Editor]

  5. I could use a lot of words to say you Happy birthday, but any words would be riductive of my wish to wish you all the best! I’ll do with the words of our favourite poet:

“Now Ophelia, she’s ‘neath the window
For her I feel so afraid
    On her twenty-second birthday
She already is an old maid”

It’s the only Dylan’s song where I have found the word “Birthday”! Maybe not so tender words, but I’m sure you’ll appreciate the effort!

    Have a wonderful tomorrow, mate!

    L!

[Bless you for that. I wish it was my 22nd birthday… – Features Editor]

  6. Hi Fed, what can I say ?

I prefer this photo to all those feet, perhaps because guessing is not among my skills.

I like to see Gilmour,Wright and Stanislao enjoying their time, it makes me think I’m there.

Funny is that I was in London on August 29th , I knew there was a recording meeting in Abbey Road, but to late to win the possibility to come and see them all. I could have come outside the studios, but it wouldn’t have been decent, for an middle-aged lady like me, to wait in the road like a teenager. So I’m waiting for other rehearsals, because I know that in my life there will be a meeting with Mr Gilmour and his band during an informal occasion… I hope…

I can’t even see them in TV because I’m not in the UK in Dicember!

Never mind… there will be another occasion

Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you’re older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death”

    Happy Birthday!

  8. May you have a brilliant birthday with all the football you can watch. No kitchen projects or blog entries to distract you.

    Cheers.

  9. Clearly, I’m losing my touch on the shoe thing. So instead I’ll post this to the FEd:

Remember, remember the fourth of October.
Best wishes from this barmy lot.
I know of no reason why the FEd’s birthday season
    Should ever be forgot!

Have a bitchin’ birthday, FEd. You’re the best (except for David and Polly and the all the guys in the band and the Gilmour family and….) OK BYE

[Thanks for that, Becky. – Features Editor]

Nothing too original, but here’s wishing you a very happy birthday!! Have fun with your kitchen project, but take a little time for yourself, too! Maybe David and Polly will call and sing a little birthday ditty for you … you certainly deserve it!

  19. Good day, I have enjoyed the shoe pictures.

It has been sometime since you have updated us on the highly anticipated David Gilmour DVD. I was wondering if you have any info. or possible release date. I can’t wait to get my hands on it !!!

    Thanks

    Couldn’t disagree more.

We inter-act with you on a daily basis and have grown to really appreciate the way you treat all of us. Therefore, when said Birthday comes rolling around it is only natural that we would recipricate that affection and respect….ya big lug.

    Have great day

    lot’s of David Gilmour ♫
    and have ☻

  22. Awwwwwwwww:( I will miss you Fed. But I sure hope you have a great day off. You will be one year wiser when you return.

Go out and do something really out of character, something that says , midlife crisis here I come.

Re connect with some “pre kitchen makeover” friends.

I have a great idea! Have a paint/paper party! Invite all your friends over this weekend, order some pizza and a kegger and have everyone pitch in. I had a paint party once and it was great fun.

Warning!!!!! There is a fine line between drunk and genius.

    Melissa (*_*)

    P.S. Don’t forget a designated driver.

  23. P.S. This is for you Fed.

[Thanks! The resemblance is striking. Have you got a private detective watching me, or something? – Features Editor]

  24. Since theres no Blog tomarrow than Happy Birthday today Fed. Hope your day is filled with joy and fun, enjoy your day away and will be waiting for you to get back. Hope everything goes your way on your special day.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!
    Clarice

  25. Buon Compleanno Fed, Enjoy your day.

I really like this photo. It reminds me of old friendship still going strong. It seems like their smiles could tell a thousand stories.

  26. F’ed, I’d like to leap on this creaking bandwagon and wish you all the very best for your birthday – as a fellow Libran – we can add John Lennon (9 October 1940) to the set by the way.

A few bon mots, randomly selected…

I’m at an age when my back goes out more than I do.
    – Phyllis Diller

You are only young once, but you can be immature for a lifetime.
    – John P. Grier

Call this an unfair generalization if you must, but old people are no good at everything.
    – Moe, from the Simpsons

  27. Kitchen floors are a dread!!
    Once knees turn to red
    And fingers have bled
    And dog paws have fled,
    You return here instead,
    Hanging by a thread,
Only to hear in your head
A thousand times to be said,
    “Happy Birthday to Fed!”
But I say, “GO TO BED
    Before you drop dead!!!”

    Thank you, Fed.

  32. Hi all

Hope you are all having fun – and best wishes for your birthday FED.

The sun certainly does seem to race round ever more quickly and I will be 40 at Christmas – but what a year – superb new album, fantastic live shows (including that Mermaid show (which did help pull me out of a hole so thanks to you FED!) plus I got to meet David and thank him in person at RAH for making the best music in the world!

So I hope your year has been as good as mine.

    Love
    Matty

  33. Thank you all so very, very much for the birthday greetings. I’m really touched. Bless you.

  35. CAPTION:

David: What special selction shall we play for our dear F*Ed’s birthday?
Rick: Well, I hear he is quite fond of ‘Radiohead’…..
    David: BRILLIANT!!!
Steve: (squealy pre-pubescent voice) AAWWWwwwwwuuUUH! Can’t we just play some Gloria Gaynor?

[Please, please, Gloria Gaynor… – Features Editor]

  36. hope you had a good b’day mate and the news is good about the teaser cd/dvd coming out

one thing i am glad about is there will be a limited amount of dvd/s available, this solves any thoughts people have about having to buy the album of course i would have done and proberbly still will as i like to have every official release, but i would hate for it to be said David profits from his fans in this way we all know he does not

plus it makes me feel better that David and his managment support it and its not just a cynical ploy by the record company to profit, at least there is new material on there that is un released

after thinking about this i cant wait but i must admit at first i thought it was a record company money maker , hope you understand what I mean i am in no way been offensive

cheers mate speak to you all tomorrow

[No offence taken, mate. – Features Editor]
